I grew up in a small apartment where I spent most of my time in my 4m² bedroom. My mother believed that my ability to make the most out of my tiny space initiated architecture in my life. In my bedroom, I managed to fit a bed, a guest mattress, a dresser, a side table and a desk. At 18, I spent a year in Melbourne, Australia. I was impressed by the width of its sidewalks. Back in Brazil, I got into University at the School of Architecture of UFMG. In my first year as a student of architecture, I spent a few months in Helsinki, Finland. I was deeply impacted by Finnish Architecture and Design. I realized I would never be able to separate these aspects of my life: design from architecture – Finland from Brazil. Since then, I have tried to balance these four passions of mine. I graduated in 2002. Soon after, in 2004, Oiti, my product design label + architecture studio, was founded. In 2010, I finally surrendered myself and moved to Helsinki for a two-year Master’s degree at Aalto University School of Arts, Design and Architecture. The Oiti products reflect my strong belief that design and architecture are means to make life better, therefore are not committed to trends or fashion fevers.
Thank you for stopping by!
Me formei em 2002.
